Gerald Griffin, 21, of Lansing, has been arraigned on five counts in connection with a shooting that occurred on Friday, Aug. 7, in Mecosta County.
During an altercation in a Martiny Township home, Griffin pulled out a handgun and shot a 41 year-old man in the shoulder and a 19-year-old man in the abdomen with the same bullet. Both men are expected to make a full recovery from their injuries.
“Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Griffin,” Michigan State Police said. “He was located and arrested in the Lansing area on Aug. 13, 2026.”
Griffin was arraigned on two counts of assault/bodily harm less than murder/strangulation, two counts of felony firearm and one count of felony firearm possession by a prohibited person.
Troopers were assisted in the investigation by the MSP Sixth District Special Investigation Section (SIS), Fugitive Team, Lansing Major Crimes Unit (MCU), Lakeview Post and the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office.
