Salvation Army kicks off kettle campaigns Nov. 20 with volunteers needed

Categories: Local News

The Salvation Army will begin its annual red kettle campaign in Lake, Mecosta, Newaygo and Osceola counties.

Kettles will be visible starting Nov. 20 and will remain in place through Dec. 24.

“Funds raised at the kettles directly support year-round emergency assistance programs, providing local families and individuals with clothing vouchers, utility assistance, character-building activities and holiday assistance,” a Salvation Army representative said.

The organization is seeking both full-time and part-time volunteers to help with the fundraiser. No prior experience is required, but applicants must be able to stand for long periods.

“Our bell ringers are the public face of our mission,” a Salvation Army representative said. “By joining our team, you aren’t just taking a seasonal job—you are actively helping us clothe and support families right here in Big Rapids throughout the year.”

Interested volunteers can email gldbigrapids@usc.salvationarmy.org or call The Salvation Army of Big Rapids Community Center at 231-796-5597.
