John Robert Bassett, 70, of Big Rapids, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023.

He was born December 16, 1952, the son of Idan and Dorothy (Peepers) Bassett. John graduated from Reed City High School in 1971, and later attended Ferris State College.

John was a kind and gentle soul who loved to read and listen to music. For the past 30 years he lived at Jayne's House (Assisted Living) where he was very happy and well taken care of. The family would like to thank Jayne for her wonderful care.

He is survived by his sister Dorothy Bassett, and several extended family members. John was preceded in death by his parents.
