Ruth Ann (Kriewall) Mowat, 83, of Evart, joined her Lord and Savior on June 2, 2024. She was born March 7, 1941, near Port Hope, Michigan, one of eight children of Frederick and Lois Kriewall. She graduated from Utica High School in 1958 and had a long career in food service, much of it spent as a supervisor at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester.
Ruth married her beloved husband of 65 years, Harold Mowat, in 1959, and they made their home and raised their daughters in Rochester. Harold and Ruth moved to Osceola Township in retirement, where they built a house that Ruth enjoyed surrounding with beautiful flower gardens. Music was another joy of her life, and she loved singing in the choir and playing the hammer dulcimer. Ruth’s faith and her family, both at home and at church, were the cornerstones of her life and she was a faithful member and lay leader at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Evart.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Harold; daughters, Deborah (Gerald) Larsen and Diana (John) Martin; grandson, Jared Martin; siblings Willet (Vickie) Kriewall, Al (Arlene) Kriewall, Carl (Nancy) Kriewall, and Pauline (Mickey) Ferguson & many extended family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents; sisters, Wilma and Phylma Kriewall and a brother, Edwin Kriewall.
