Joshua Charles Clark passed away peacefully at the Big Rapids Fields Assisted Living & Memory Center on Monday, June 17, 2024. He was 101 years old.
He was born October 6, 1922 in Big Rapids to Eli and Anna Christina (Jensen) Clark and attended Big Rapids Area country schools. Joshua was employed with a saw mill and labored with local farmers until his enlistment in the United States Marine Corps. in 1943. He served his country honorably during World War II in the Pacific Campaign and took part in the battle of Iwo Jima.
On July 14, 1946 he was married to Dorothy Irene Howell who preceded him in death in 2006.
Joshua was employed with Wolverine World Wide for 33 years as a supervisor until his retirement in 1984 at the age of 62. He enjoyed bowling leagues with friends and being in the outdoors hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his children: Joyce (Nelson) Eveland, Naomi (Jim) Duddles, Gary Clark, and Nancy Conway; 14 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and 17 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his great grandson Camron Charles Clark.
Funeral services will take place at 12:00 P.M. Friday, June 21, 2024 at the Pruitt-Livingston Funeral Home in Reed City with visitation beginning at 11:00 A.M. Military honors and burial will follow at the Chase Twp. Cemetery.
