Helyne Ireta Morris, age 88 of Reed City, passed away peacefully after a very brief stay at the Meceola Currie Comfort Home on Friday, July 5, 2024.

She was born November 7, 1935, in Muskegon to Erwin and Babe Martz.  She attended school in Reed City graduating from Reed City High School in 1954.  On June 9, 1956, she was married at the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Reed City to Joseph Morris.  Helyne was a homemaker and wife to her loving family. She was a great cook and enjoyed sewing, crafts and meeting with the coffee crowds at Bernie’s in Big Rapids and at McDonald’s in Reed City.

She is survived by her husband Joseph Morris; her children Steve (Linda) Morris, Joanne (Scott) Davis, Tom Morris, and David (Terri) Morris; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and extended family members.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her three sisters, Fran Snider, Patsy Simonson, and Marilyn Knight and brother, Bud Martz, along with son in-law, Mark Borstler and long-time close friend, Shirley Miller.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 12, 2024, at the St. Philip-Neri Catholic Church in Reed City with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M.  Visitation on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the Pruitt-Livingston Funeral Home will take place from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a Rosary Service to follow.  Burial will follow the funeral mass at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Reed City, with a luncheon at St. Philip Neri Church after graveside services.
