Eleanor Eichenberg of Reed City passed away peacefully at the Corewell Health Reed City Hospital Rehabilitation & Nursing Center on Saturday, July 6th, 2024. She was 92.

She was born June 15, 1932, to Raymond and Ruth Rhodes. On October 16th, 1953, she married to Leslie Eichenberg for 35 years, who passed away in 1988.

Eleanor and Leslie operated a small family farm, where she was a homemaker, and worked at Reed City Hospital, from where she later retired.  Her greatest happiness was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by her children: Debra Helmboldt, Wayne (Carol) Eichenberg, Patty Losey; her sister Ruthann (Al) Giesel; and 8 grandchildren: Jamie (Peggy) Eichenberg, Randy (Alexis) Rice, Andrew (Stacy) Lodholtz, Monica (Tim) Phinney, Sarah (Jay) Dixon, Erin (Troy McLachlan) Gilmore, Darrel (Brandi Sweet) Losey, and Casey Helmboldt; 14 great grandchildren: Chandler Larson, Lauren Larson, Kris Larson, Adrianna Lodholtz, Chelsea Gilmore, Clayton Phinney, Henry Rice, Oliver Dixon, Zayden Losey, Max Rice, Calvin Dixon, Willow Losey, Ensley Helmboldt, Kyler Helmboldt; and one great great grandchild, Dawson Dines.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leslie; parents Ruth and Raymond Rhodes; her brothers Marvin Rhodes, Arvid Rhodes, and sister Delores (Lavern) Cole; and her daughters Carol (Doug) Kerr and Nancy (Robin) Shoemaker.

Funeral services will take place at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at the Pruitt-Livingston Funeral Home in Reed City. Visitation with the family will begin at 12:00 P.M.  

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Corewell Health Reed City Hospital Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.
