Jamie Lee Shafer, 33 of Marion, formerly of Evart and Missouri, passed away September 4, 2024, at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born on September 16, 1990, in Joplin, Missouri, to James III and Tracy (Hight) Chapple. Jamie was raised in Neosho, MO, moved to Michigan in 2014, and made her home in Evart a short time, where she attended the Evart First Baptist Church, before moving to Marion.
On July 21, 2020 she married Gilbert D. Shafer in Harrison, Michigan. He truly adored Jamie and loved doing things to surprise her, like taking her to her first NASCAR race. Her favorite driver was Martin Truex Jr. When she was able she enjoyed: going to auctions and camping, fishing especially salmon fishing on the Manistee, tinkering around with whatever Junior was working on and spending time with family and friends. She would often take the time to color adult coloring books with her daughter, Constance.
Jamie’s strong will and determination will be remembered by: her husband, Gilbert “Junior” Shafer of Marion; her paternal grandmother, Carolyn (William “Bill”) Dodds of Missouri; children, Constance Chapple and Cole & Angel Everly and their dad, Steven Everly; four brothers, Cody, Robby, Jerry and Billy all of MO; two stepchildren and their families, Kenny (Tammy) Shafer and Katherine “Kathy” Shafer; and many aunts, uncles, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
