Diane Woodside, 76, of Reed City, with her family at her side, went home to be with the Lord, on Monday, September 16, 2024. Diane was born in Wayne, Michigan, on March 26, 1948, to Raymond and Sarah (Kongeal) Kubitskey. She graduated from Wayne Memorial High School in 1966. On November 10, 1967 she married Alan “Paul” Woodside and they built a beautiful life together in Reed City.
When Diane walked into a room, it would light up. She was outgoing, appreciative and would do anything for anybody. She was a familiar face at North End Grocery where she worked for many years and a member of Saint Philip Neri Catholic Parish in Reed City. Diane was a really good cook and hosted many dinners with her family. Diane enjoyed playing cards, testing her luck at the casino, shopping and spending the winters in Florida. Throughout the years Paul and Diane were seldom without two dogs to keep them company.
Left to treasure her memory are: her husband of 57 wonderful years, Paul; three children, Amye (Dean) Hensel, Scott (Shannon) Woodside and Jason (Nicole) Woodside all of Reed City; Six grandchildren, who she adored, Sean Woodside, Kalee (Ian) Kailing, Ashley Woodside , Karah Hensel, TJ Woodside and Tyler Woodside; great-granddaughter, Amelia Kailing; sister, Carol (Bill) Day of Fenton; In-laws, Ken (Kathy) Woodside of Battle Creek and Gloria (Ted) Pierson of Pinckney; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Diane was preceded in death by: her sister, Janice (Raymond) Winker and her parents.
Visitation with the family will be at 10:00am followed by a memorial mass at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21st at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Reed City with Father Philip Shangraw as celebrant. The family would like to continue to share memories with everyone during a luncheon at Richmond Township Hall 21717 Howard Street, Reed City, following the memorial service.
