Kevin Wayne Tiedt, proud veteran, faithful son and caring father, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024 at home in Sears. Kevin was born on April 15, 1964 in Reed City to Duane and Lou Anna (Wineman) Tiedt. He graduated from Evart High School in 1982 and entered the United States Army, where he served until 1987. Kevin moved to South Carolina in the late 80's and back to the Evart area in 1997 eventually settling in Sears.
At a very young age, Kevin took interest in collecting things like: bottle tops, stamps, old coins and Zippos. His hobby collecting never ceased and expanded over the years. Kevin also developed a passion for music. He learned to play the piano and taught his children how to play a song or two. He was a top 500 gamer for the video game "Command and Conquer. Was a hands-on person with masonry skills and liked to plant trees. Kevin was owner/operator of Pro-Signs and could letter anything. He was a lot like his dad and a little pigheaded sometimes. He loved his kids fiercely and they knew there wasn't anything they couldn't ask of him.
Kevin was playful and dedicated to his family that include: his mother, "LouAnn" Tiedt of Evart; two sons, Roman and Summer Tiedt and their children, August, Oliver and Silas of Georgia and Tyler Tiedt, of Zeeland: sister, Karen Tiedt of Evart; brother, Jeff Tiedt of Bay City and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Kevin was preceded in death by: his dad, Duane and two infant brothers.
Cremation has taken place with the care of Corey Funeral Home in Evart. A graveside service will be held in the spring (2025) at Forest Hill Cemetery with military honors. He will be laid to rest with his family.
