Charles Garett Hawes, age 88 of Hersey, passed away at his residence on Monday, September 30, 2024.

He was born September 24, 1936, in Detroit to Garnet and Martha (Kinnunen) Hawes.  Charles served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army from 1960 until 1962.

He is survived by his wife Jo Ann; his sister-in-laws Linda Hawes, Jean (Thomas) Chapman, and Carol Brazzell; nephews and nieces: Brett (Wendy) and their children Mitchell (Haley), Deanne (Nelbert); nephew Todd (Jill) Chapman, and their children Adam, Ryan, and Tracie (Mark) Mesko; and her nephew Bill Brazzell.
