Charles Basil Boudreau, 84, of Canadian Lakes

Charles Basil Boudreau passed away peaceful at home on October 20, 2024. He was born to Simon Clifford Boudreau and Evelyn (McKinnon) Boudreau who have proceeded him in death. He was raised in Nova Scotia Canada with his brothers, Clifford Brendan (Carmel Pixie) and Cyril Joseph (Joan) until the age of 9 at which time they migrated to Detroit, Michigan, where he eventually became Naturalized. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Constance Jean (Cogal) Boudreau, Daughters Janet Stevens (Patrick Meehan) and Lynda Rusu (Craig Shilling) along with 4 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who benefited from his boundless love of family and pride in the next generation.

Chuck, Baz, Dad or simply “Gramps” was a force of nature, always on to the next big adventure in life. An artistic soul, his creativity was matched only by his energy. Chucks adventurous spirt led him to early success when at 18 he made and distributed Hoola Hoops for K-Mart. It turned very lucrative, and he earned enough to buy himself a 1954 Corvette and with some money left over Chuck realized his passions in life; everything automobile, making money and being thrifty. That is what Chuck absolutely shined at, making it happen, working a plan and having a full life. Chuck was a family man, adventuring with his wife and children and then his grandchildren. Sailing on the Great Lakes, hiking in the California Hills or exploring deserts all around the world he lived fully every day, working hard, appreciating life and all its wonders .

His work history is varied and full, Chuck worked for the Detroit automakers for many years, mainly Ford Motor Company as a clay-modeler and then a smaller automaker, Zimmer Motors in Florida. He eventually struck off on his own, in California, with Prototype Concepts a design and prototype manufacturing company which he helped build over 15 years and was successful. Before retirement he was able to realize a dream and travel overseas to work for Ford Otosan in Istanbul, Turkey. Chuck and Connie lived overseas for 4 years and were able to travel all over Europe and experience new cultures. After all of that, they were finally able to retire, enjoying their next 20 years spending the summers in their cottage, located in the woods on the 13th hole of the Royal Golf Course in Canadian lakes, Michigan and then winters in lovely Lake Worth Florida.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
