Rodolfo "Rudy" Salinas, 90, of Sears

Rodolfo “Rudy” Salinas age 90 of Sears, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 28, 2024. He was born September 15, 1934 in San Antonio, TX the son of Pedro and Hermina (Martinez) Salinas. Rudy was one of ten children and a twin to Roy Salinas. He moved to Sears, MI as a child with his family and graduated from Evart High School in 1953. He married Eleanor “Faye” Cooper in 1955 at the Sears Church of God where they faithfully attended for eighty years. Together in Sears, they built a family founded on love and faith. After forty years of dedicated service, he retired from Evart Products and fully enjoyed retirement.

He always had a song in his heart and a smile on his face. Rudy saw the best in everyone and never said a bad word about anybody. He never met a stranger and there wasn’t much he didn’t love. He loved listening to music, watching westerns, sports and was an avid Lions fan. He was very proud of his age and that he was one of the last five remaining from his graduating class. Rudy loved and spoke fondly of his family, kept track of his classmates and had many great memories that he would reflect on regularly.

Rudy had a natural way of making you feel like you were at home and a part of the family. Grateful for the memories they have and time they got to spend with Rudy are: children, Patricia Friday of Clare, Karen (Tom) Saladin of Reed City, Brenda Parker of Irons, and Steve (Tami) Salinas of Marne; seven grandchildren, Jeremy (Jennifer) Saladin, Jessica Saladin, Angela Denslow, Kristine Denslow, Dustin (Michelle) Salinas, Brandon (Michelle) Salinas, and Jordan (Katy) Salinas; 32 great grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren; two siblings, Guadalupe Morgan and Andres (Doris) Salinas; Faye’s siblings ~ all of the Cooper’s and their families whose time together he treasured; and numerous extended family and friends.

His now reunited with: his wife Eleanor; his parents, grandson, Terry Fred Denslow; siblings, Rogelio “Roy” Salinas, Elida (Stanley) Connor, Pedro “Pete” (Carolyn) Salinas Jr., Manfred “Al” (Betty) Salinas, Maria (Richard) Pylman, Romeo (Bessie) Salinas, Horacio “Horace” (Tina) Salinas, and brother-in-law, Arlo Morgan.

The family will greet friends Tuesday, Dec. 3rd from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm at the Sears Church of God with Pastor Nolan VanOrder officiating. Rudy will be laid to rest at Sylvan Township Cemetery, in Osceola County, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations to the church are welcomed.
