Marsha Jean Lewis, age 75 of Hersey, passed away peacefully early in the morning of February 22, 2025.  

She was born in Detroit on December 23, 1949, to John and Annabell Goodman, the oldest of seven children.  She grew up in the Detroit area and spent her early years working for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.  On February 24, 1978, Marsha married the love of her life Guy Lewis of Reed City and they settled in the Hersey area.  

If Marsha had a specialty in anything, it would be caring.  She cared about people of whatever age and spent the rest of her life in doing so, whether it was in fostering kids, babysitting, elderly care, or any other form you can think of, she was part of it.  Her other passion besides caring for people would be her church.  Marsha was a long-standing member of the Hersey United Methodist church, and she wore many hats for the church during that time, including church secretary, lay leader, Sunday school teacher, VBS, and anything else that needed to be filled in and she was able to help, official or unofficial.  You would never know what antics she would use or depths she would go to get a message across for whatever the occasion.  

Speaking of wearing hats, Marsha was also an avid member of the Reed City Red Hats Society.  Marsha loved spending time with family, whether it was fishing, taking the grandkids frogging, playing games, cousins weekends, car show weekend, holidays, birthdays, or any other excuse to get together, she was there when able.  If anything may be remembered about her, let it be her love, caring, and kindness, as that was the only way she knew how to live her life.  Marsha loved her family, loved her church and church family, and loved her friends.  She showed this in every aspect of her life and was always willing to help any of them in any way possible.  

Marsha is survived by her loving husband Guy, sisters Bev, Joyce, and Bobbi, brothers Brent and Brian, son Josh (Trudy) Lewis of Leroy, grandchildren Alisha (Kyle) Curtis of Evart, Cassandra Hennigan of Spring Lake, Gabe Lewis of Paris, Caleb and Carter Lewis of Leroy, numerous nieces and nephews, and her great grandson Wilder.  She is preceded in death by her parents John and Annabell, brother Terry, and niece Kyra.  

Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 1, 2025 at the Hersey United Methodist Church; located at 200 W. Second St, Hersey Mi 49639; at 1:00 P.M., with visitation starting at 11:00 A.M.  A luncheon and reception with the family will follow services.  Burial will be private.
