John Allen Buss, 76, passed away April 3, 2025 at Big Rapids Fields, where he has lived for the past 3 years.
John was born in Reed City, MI on June 3, 1948 to John and Celia (McNeil) Buss. John graduated from Evart High School in 1966 and still kept in touch with some of his classmates.
In 1968, John joined the U.S. Army. He served in Vietnam where he received The Army Commendation Medal and was honorably discharged in 1971.
After returning to Evart he worked at Dean's Dairy before moving to Luverne, MN and became “the parts guy" at a family owned John Deere dealership. John moved to Mason, MI and worked at D&G Equipment until his retirement.
John was a true John Deere person and would not hesitate to tell anyone what was wrong with any color tractor that wasn't green. His vast knowledge of John Deere equipment allowed him to recite the correct part numbers right up to the time of his passing. He enjoyed working and watching Nascar, his birds, trips back up to the farm in Evart to sit by the bonfire, do a little fishing or just ride around on his John Deere Buck.
John was preceded in death by: his parents, John and Celia Buss; sister, Virginia and husband, Bill Ingram; sister, Marilyn Olhausen and Aunts, Uncles and cousins that were very dear to him.
John is survived by: brother-in-law, Gary Olhausen; Aunts, nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends including, Mike Park and Russ Manning who faithfully visited him.
Per John's request, there will be no services. Cremation has taken place and John's final resting place will be at Forest Hill Cemetery with his parents.
