Irene Lola Towns, age 93, of Lakeview passed away peacefully at Intersect Healthcare of Big Rapids on May 15, 2025. Irene was born November 15,1931, in Trufant where she was raised until she married Darwin "Pat" Towns on March 22, 1952. Together they raised 3 children in Trufant before moving to Coral where they enjoyed their retirement years. Irene loved to bake; you never knew what special treat she would have ready on your next visit. Irene was the first teachers aid at the Trufant school where she impacted many young lives before moving on as a care giver for the elderly at Christiansens nursing home in Trufant and in their Greenville facility. She also worked at extended care at Kelsey Hospital.

Irene will be greatly missed by her two surviving daughters, Alicia (Frank) Clover of South Bordman, Mi and Sandra (Felix) Perez of Lakeview; one brother-in-law, Mick (Trudy) Towns of Greenville; 10 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren and several cherished nieces and nephews.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin “Pat” Towns; son, Michael Towns, and all of her siblings.

Per Irene’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no service. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
