Ginger (Virginia) Ruth Peters, 78, of Reed City

Ginger (Virginia) Ruth Peters (Spence), born on September 21, 1946, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and quiet strength.

Ginger was the beloved wife of the late Edward Peters, whom she married on September 24, 1978. Their life together was filled with deep companionship and shared devotion, until Edward’s passing on April 10, 2020.

She is lovingly remembered by her five stepchildren: Julie Stratton (Scott), Jill Gee, MD (Robert Bausmith), James Peters (Ana Woehr), Janna Lhota (David), and Jennifer Webster (George Jacobs); seven grandchildren: Thomas Stratton (Nichole), Nicholas Stratton (Angela), Russell Gee (Tamarah Brousseau), Matthew Gee, Connor Lhota, Luke Lhota, and Samantha Webster; and five great-grandchildren who brought her great joy.

Ginger is also survived by her two dear sisters, Carol Couture and Mary McInnis (Jerry), and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Spence and Jan Spence. She was preceded in death by her sister Ann Reed, brothers Jimmie, Eldon, and Bill Spence, brother-in-law Forrest Reed, and sister-in-law Hazel Spence. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.

Ginger embraced her role as a devoted stepmother with warmth and grace, creating lasting bonds with each of her “children” and their families. She was a loving wife, a caring sister, and a thoughtful aunt.

A lifelong lover of animals, especially cats, Ginger’s compassion extended to all creatures great and small. She also had a deep passion for music, particularly country, and cherished her visits to Nashville to spend time with her brother Eldon.

Her quiet strength, gentle spirit, and steadfast love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank Corewell Health Hospice who provided loving and compassionate care to both Ginger and her family in her final days.

A celebration of Ginger’s life will be held at the Pruitt - Livingston Funeral Home in Reed City Michigan on May 17th, at 12:00. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm on May 16th and 11:00-12:00 on May 17th.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ginger’s memory to the Osceola County Humane Society.
