Douglas "Doug" J. McQuestion, 79, of LeRoy

Douglas ”Doug” J. McQuestion of LeRoy, passed away on May 24, 2025, at the age of 79, surrounded by his loving family.

Doug was born on August 22, 1945. A few years before graduating from LeRoy High School in 1964, Doug joined his father’s business, where he would work alongside his four brothers until he retired.  At retirement from road construction, he formed C & D Construction where he continued building spec homes in Cadillac and digging wells around the area with his backhoe. In 1964, Doug married his wife of 61 years, Connie Lockhart.

Anyone that knew Doug knows that his favorite thing to do was to have a drink at the bar while playing Keno and catching up with his friends, but if he wasn’t there he enjoyed playing Uno at the dinner table with his family. In his younger years you could find him fishing, building something in his “hobby house”, or playing golf with his buddies on Thursday nights.

Doug was a true renaissance man: there wasn’t anything he couldn’t do, and once he set out to do something, he wouldn’t quit until the job was finished. If anyone needed help fixing something, whether it was the brakes on a car or the remodeling of a house, he was there. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for his family and friends.

Remaining to cherish Doug’s memory are his beloved wife, Connie McQuestion (Lockhart); his children Scott and Lori; his grandchildren Paige, Kaylie, and Robert, and his granddaughter Michaela, who he most lovingly referred to as “his Rosie”.

He is also survived by his brothers, Steve (Joyce) McQuestion, and Robert Alan (Renee) McQuestion.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Durwood J. and Ella Mamie McQuestion, and his brothers Richard “Dick” McQuestion and Gerald “Jerry” McQuestion.

Doug was profoundly loved by many, and left memories that will forever be cherished by those lucky enough to have known him. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on forever in our hearts.
