Doris Donna (Monroe) Hainbecker passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 29, 2025, in Big Rapids.  She was 97.

She was born May 2, 1928, to Frank and Elizabeth (Smith) Monroe.  Doris was married on August 8, 1964, to Kenneth Hainbecker, and together they built a life filled with love.

She dedicated 29 years of service to Ferris State University before her retirement at the age of 60.  She spent most of her retirement years at their home in Grand Marais, Michigan where she enjoyed her rose garden.

She is survived by her loving children: Ed (Christine) Richardson, Alvin (Joann) Richardson, Marvin (Judy) Richardson, and Vietta (Bob) McCartney; her cherished grandchildren: Mark, Jeremy, Aaron, Heather, Christopher, Kevin, Matthew, Megan, Kami, and Dustin; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren who brought her endless joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and May Monroe; her beloved husband, Kenneth; and her sisters, Cecil, Violet, Laura (Ethel), Henrietta, and Beulah.

Per her wishes, a private graveside service will be held to honor her memory.

She will be forever loved and missed.
