Roger Frederick Beilfuss, 84

Roger Frederick Beilfuss, 84, of Chase, peacefully entered the presence of his Lord on July 10, 2025.

He was born November 20, 1940 in Arcadia, Michigan to Floyd and Rose Beilfuss. Roger spent his childhood in Bear Lake and graduated from Arcadia High School, where he excelled as a baseball player. In the spring of 1959, he spent three weeks in Lakeland, Florida trying out as a pitcher for the Detroit Tigers.

On May 2, 1959, Roger married Marcia Noffsinger. Together, they dedicated their lives to serving the Lord, raising a family, and establishing a successful business, Baldwin Canoe Rental. Over the years, Roger formed lasting bonds with the many young people who worked for him, many of whom have kept in touch.

A lifelong passion for music enriched Roger's life. He had the ability to play nearly any instrument by ear and was an active participant as a song leader, soloist, and choir member at church. Roger and Marcia often hosted sing-alongs at their home and even recorded music with their group, The Gospel Gathering. Roger was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Evart.

As we reflect on Roger's life, we celebrate a man who brought joy and love to everyone fortunate enough to know him. We find comfort in knowing he has gone home to be with his Savior.

Roger is survived by his sons, Jeff (Patty) Beilfuss of Ludington and Ryan (Chrissy) Beilfuss of Evart; his daughter, Sharri (Philip) Brown of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; grandchildren Timothy (Samantha) Beilfuss, Jeannie Beilfuss, Daniel (Ginger) Beilfuss, Anesa Beilfuss-Gulembo (Corliss) Gulembo, Emily (Brett) Heist, Lexie Brown, Margaret Brown, Joel Beilfuss, Savannah (Justin) O’Dell, and Sadie (Derek) Derscheid; eleven great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Gary Noffsinger of Ludington; and sister-in-law Susan (Paul) Wilhite of Thompsonville.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marcia, who passed away in 2020, his parents, son Craig, brothers Richard, Ronald, Virgil, and Burton, and granddaughter Carrie Rose Beilfuss.

The memorial service and visitation will take place at First Baptist Church in Evart on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, with family visitation beginning at 10:00 AM, public visitation starting at 10:30 AM and the service at 12:00 PM. A luncheon will follow at the Pineview Homes gymnasium, and burial will occur at Chase Township Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed at fbcevart.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church (for missions), P.O. Box 397, Evart, MI 49631.
