Dennis “Denny” Jay Wanstead from Tustin, MI, age 63, passed away peacefully with family at his side on Monday, August 25, 2025.

He was born in Cadillac, MI on October 4 1961, to Robert and Constance “Connie” (Bodell) Wanstead.  Denny loved to spend time with his family and friends; fishing and fighting.  One thing about Denny is EVERYONE knew you didn’t touch the hat on his head. He had a huge heart for his dogs, as well.  

Denny attended Pine River Schools before working for many different employers, and then for himself, doing a little bit of everything.  He has always done it his way!  

Denny was preceded in death by his mother Constance Wanstead; his grandparents Bruce (Naida) Wanstead and Ed (Inez) Bodell; and his aunt Patricia Shoemaker.

Denny is survived by his father, Robert (Dee) Wanstead; brothers—James (Dorothy) Wanstead, Terry (Judy) Wanstead, Robert (Mary) Wanstead; sisters—Bobbi (Walt) Lodholtz and Ronda (Chuck) Strange; his children—Freddy (Jenny) Forbes, Cory Mead, Dennis Waite, Bradley Wanstead; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Freddy and Jenny, who were so comforting and helpful to Denny.

Denny’s ashes will be laid to rest right next to his mother.  A graveside cremation burial ceremony will be held at the Maple Hill Cemetery in LeRoy, MI at a later date.
