Douglas Lee Johnson passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the age of 70. 

Doug was born on February 3, 1955, to Vernon and Florence Johnson, who preceded him in death. He lived his entire life in LeRoy, graduating from Pine River High School in 1974. 

Married on April 27, 1974, Doug is survived by his wife of 51 years, Connie (Raab), his brother Rick and wife Jan of LeRoy and his brother, Dennis of LeRoy. 

Survivors also include his daughter, Jennifer (Michael) in Farwell, and son Russell (Amber) in LeRoy as well as 9 grandchildren, Allyson, Logan, Emma, Mariah, Kacie, Ethan, Allison, Isaac and Natasha. 

He was also preceded in death by his son, Joey and grandson, Dylan. 

Doug spent his life as a farmer in LeRoy, where he worked with his family to raise dairy cows and grow Christmas trees and nursery stock. In his younger years, Doug enjoyed spending time outside hunting and riding snowmobiles. Time at deer camp playing cards was a highlight in his life. As time allowed, he would travel to the UP of Michigan or to the woods in some western states doing the same activities. Growing older, his time was spent watching his kids and grandkids enjoy those same activities, until some recent health issues made it more difficult to get out and around. Those who knew Doug, understood his personality and loved him. 

Per the family’s wishes, a private memorial service will be held in the coming weeks. As the loss of a husband, brother, father and grandfather is a challenging time, please keep the family in your thoughts as they move into a new chapter of their lives.
