Dora Lynn Hansen, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and diehard U of M fan, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Meijer Heart in Grand Rapids. She was born in Lakeview, MI on November 26, 1969, to George and Mary (Luginbuhl) Kempher. Dora was a proud graduate of the Reed City High School Class of 1988. She honorably served in the United States Army from 1994 to 1997. Dora earned her associates degree in Criminal Justice from Ferris State University.
Known for her vibrant and spunky personality, Dora was a woman who "stood on business, when she needed to," yet was always silly when needed. She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, from 80’s music, watching movies and football, to the art of woodburning.
A competitive spirit at heart, she loved playing cards—especially Old Maid, Go Fish, and Uno—with her grandchildren and "B" rummy with the adults. She was a permanent fixture as the Board Secretary at the New Journey Clubhouse in Big Rapids.
Her family will fondly remember her feisty and loyal nature, how fiercely she would defend her grandchildren, as well as her signature winter and summer shorts. You never got off the phone or left her presence without her frequent, heartfelt reminder: "Love you later."
Dora is survived by her children: Darlinee (Jon) Chambers of Evart, Jazzlynn (Sara) Hansen of Big Rapids, and Collinee (Matt) Bradley of Big Rapids; proud "Nana" to six grandchildren: Wyatt H., Jaxson, Lilly, Zachary, Gabriel, and Marcus; siblings, Donald (Yvonne) Kempher, Patrick (Andrea) Kempher, Mat (Lonnie) Kempher, Tammy Groce, Marco Kempher, Tony Kempher, and Doren (Mary Ann) Kempher and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family and friends.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and George Kempher; brother, George Kempher Jr.; and her two grandchildren, Raymond and Kiera Bentley.
A celebration of life will be held on 2PM, Sunday, February 8th at the Morton Township Hall, 290 W. Main St., Mecosta, MI. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Corey Funeral Home where cremation has taken place. Condolences can be left online at coreyfuneralhome.com GO BLUE!
