Rex Winter, 73, of Morley, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. He was born on February 8, 1953, the son of William and Katie (Petersen) Winter.

Rex graduated from Cedar Springs High School and went on to work as a cement contractor and for Michigan Wheel, all while living the life he loved as a farmer. Farming was more than work to Rex — it was his passion and a source of pride. He especially enjoyed raising chickens and caring for his animals.

He was well respected by all who knew him. A man of few words, Rex carried a quiet strength, and when he spoke, people listened.

He is survived by his sister, Linda (Ed); his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Carol and Bonnie.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Homes in Big Rapids. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. He will be laid to rest at Aetna Township Cemetery in Morley.
