Gerald Schroeder passed away on November 29, 2025, and his wife of 57 years, Darlene Joy (Peterson) Schroeder, passed away earlier that same week on November 24, 2025, in Birmingham, MI. Lifelong residents of Evart, they were devoted to their family and community and will be remembered for the love, steadiness, and kindness they shared with all who knew them.

Gerald is survived by his brother Roger (Judy) Schroeder, and his sisters Betty and Beverly, all of Evart, MI.

Darlene is survived by her brothers Carlos Peterson of St. Johns, MI, and Duane Peterson of Sears, MI.

Together, Gerald and Darlene are survived by their children, Karen (James Wells) of Villa Grove, IL, and Gary Schroeder (Jennifer Lill) of Saline, MI. They leave behind five grandchildren who will always cherish their warmth, humor, and gentle presence, as well as many friends who were touched by their lives.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Osceola Council on Aging. A memorial service honoring both Gerald and Darlene will be held at Corey Funeral Home on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 2PM-4PM.
