Howard Alvin “Rusty” Bowen Jr., 77, of Evart, passed away in Reed City, on Friday, April 3, 2026, following an automobile accident. He was born on July 5, 1948 in Grand Rapids to Howard and Phyllis (Moore) Bowen Sr. On March 29, 1969, Rusty married Pamela DeBoer, at his parents' home in Grand Rapids.

He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force at Edwards Air Force Base in California, until 1973, later returning to Michigan where he devoted many years to the ministry as a missions pastor going wherever God directed.

Rusty is survived by his wife, Pamela; their children, Tammy (Rich) Appleton, Nick (Renee) Bowen, and Kenneth Bowen; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
