Juanita Marie Brower, 88

Juanita Marie Brower, 88, of Hersey, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida.

Juanita was born on December 1, 1937, in Temple, Texas to Charlie and Bertha Hill. She graduated from Temple High School in 1955. Shortly after graduation, she met Neal in Temple, Texas, and the two were married on May 26, 1956. Together, they returned to Michigan, beginning their life and raising their family in Hamilton.

Juanita took great pride in her roles as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was the heart of her family, maintaining strong and meaningful relationships with relatives and friends alike. Rarely sitting still, Juanita was always on the go—attending church, playing cards and bingo, visiting the casino, gathering with family, and faithfully cheering on her children and grandchildren at their sporting events. Throughout her life, Juanita held various jobs, with her favorite being a teacher’s aide, where she especially enjoyed working with children. Alongside Neal, her life was marked by adventure and travel. Together, they explored the world, visiting destinations such as Russia, Africa, Turkey, and many countries throughout Europe. A Texan at heart, Juanita returned often to her beloved home state to visit family and friends, frequently bringing her children along for memorable summer visits that created lifelong memories.

In 1996, following Neal’s retirement, the couple returned to the Reed City area. They purchased a farm in Hersey, where they lovingly remodeled a 100-year-old farmhouse and enjoyed the life they built together.

Juanita’s legacy lives on through the many lives she touched. Her family finds comfort in cherished memories and in knowing she has been reunited with Neal and is now at peace with her Lord and Savior. Juanita is survived by her children: Mark (Sue) Brower, Lisa (Mark) Westerburg, Todd (Heidi) Brower, Layne (Karmen) Brower, and Boyd Brower; 12 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life for Juanita will be held on Saturday, May 16, from 12 to 3 p.m. at the Reed City Depot.
