Pamela Jean Remus, 77

Pamela Jean Remus of Reed City, Michigan, passed away on April 22, 2026. Pam was born on April 19, 1949, in Lincoln, Michigan to Edwin C. Parker and Beatrice Marie (Odell) Parker. She earned her GED from Evart High School in Evart, Michigan. Anyone who knew Pam knew how strong her faith in God was. She remained a true believer through all of life’s trials and losses, embracing and demonstrating the values of love, compassion, generosity, and forgiveness.

Pam worked in nutrition services at the Reed City Hospital and volunteered at Love, Inc, where she formed many life-long friendships and enjoyed the opportunity to be of service to others. She exemplified the Christian tenet of giving to others out of love rather than obligation.

Pam loved nothing more than her family and spent most of her time caring for her husband, her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She loved hosting holiday gatherings and celebrations, going on excursions, or enjoying a coffee and chatting about favorite books with family members. For her children and grandchildren, Pam was the source of whimsy, mystery, and magic, through childhood and into adulthood. She kept the excitement of life alive through her imagination and creativity.

Pam was also a talented artist, building intricately detailed fairy houses, crocheting, sewing, drawing, and painting. She was an avid gardener, planting and tending to beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. She also loved her dogs, Louie and Finnegan, enjoying their quirky nature and their penchant for teasing her husband, Dave.

Pam will be missed dearly by the family she leaves behind, including her husband David A. Remus; daughters Sheila Johnson and Lynda (Gavin) Remus-Holt; daughter-in-law Cindy Remus; grandchildren Jacob (Aftyn) Johnson, Matthew (Haeli) Johnson, Jeffery Johnson Bellrose, Kayla (Reese) Medell, David (Emily) Remus, Jamie-Ann Belfield, Jordan Beard, Thomas (Emma) Oliver, Wyll Remus; great-grandchildren Lillian, Lennyn, Stevie, Scarlett Rose, Ethan, Eliza, Isaac, and Delilah; brothers Richard (Deb) Parker and Dan Parker; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father Herman Kienitz; brothers Ed and Mike Parker and step-brother Bob Kienitz; first husband Jeffery Johnson Sr.; sons Jeffery Johnson Jr. and David W. Remus.

A memorial service for Pam will be held on May 6, 2026, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Reed City, with visitation at 10:00 AM and service beginning at 11:00.

It is always difficult to say goodbye, but Pam’s family takes comfort in knowing that she took the first star to the right and went straight on ‘til morning.
