Wilma Jean (Rice) Roggow of Reed City passed away peacefully at the Assisted Living Foster Care Home in Evart on Sunday, April 26, 2026. She was 81 years old.
She was born on September 3, 1944, the daughter of Wilmer and Rachel Rice at the Reed City Hospital. Jean as she liked to be called, graduated in 1962 as an Evart Wildcat. She married Paul William Roggow on June 9, 1962. They made our home in Reed City. On May 5, 1963 they welcomed their first born, a baby boy, Jack W. Roggow and on May 5, 1966 they welcomed their baby girl, Paula J. Roggow. They made Reed City our home until 1974 when they moved to Capac, MI. They lived in Capac until 1995 when Paul retired and they moved back to Reed City. Jean enjoyed being a terrific mom, grandma and aunt.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Wilmer and Rachel Rice, her brother, Wilmer (Bub) Rice Jr., a niece, Kerri Rice and a nephew William (Bill) Rice. She is survived by her Husband, Paul W. Roggow of 63 years of marriage, children Jack Roggow, wife Kay of Johannesburg, Paula Armstrong, husband Scott of Yale, 4 grandchildren, Shanna Grimm, Alex Roggow, Tyler Armstrong and Autumn Armstrong, 2 great grandsons, Everett and Archer.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 1, 2026, at the Pruitt-Livingston Funeral Home in Reed City. Visitation with the family will begin at 11:00 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to Corewell Health Hospice, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or The Ronald McDonald House.
