Janet Marie Eichenberg, 69

Janet Marie Eichenberg, 69, of Reed City, Michigan passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 11, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.

She was born in Spring Lake, Michigan to the late William and Carol (Skoog) Baker on March 11, 1957. She graduated from Reed City High School in 1974 where she met the love of her life, Mark. They married on August 14, 1976, and were together over 45 years prior to his passing in 2022.

Everything important to Janet revolved around family. She was a loving mom, while also proudly holding the titles of grandma, aunt, sister, friend and confidant. She was blessed to be able to stay home and raise her children, while also giving her love to many other children who came through her doors. Janet was always surrounded by friends and they and their children were considered family to her.

Her greatest passions in life were taking care of children, designing homes, doing projects around the house with Mark, singing and her faith in God. Janet was always creating new projects for her and Mark to do in not only their home, but often in the homes of their family and friends (he always said she was the brains and he was the brawn). She was proud of the home she and Mark created. Family and friends were always welcome at their home for a chat, a glass of wine, or in the summer, a swim in the pool.

She was a grandma to five beautiful granddaughters who have the best memories of making her famous sugar cookies, playing games like Sorry and Scrabble, shopping, Easter egg hunts, over the top Christmases, and the annual Mother’s Day swim. She was a devoted mother to her children and welcomed their spouses to the family with open arms.

Janet is survived by her loving children Jill Bush (Jason), Kim Nielsen (Joe), and Greg Eichenberg (Kelsie), along with her five granddaughters (Anna, Addison, Liv, Mia, and Vivienne) who were the lights of her life.  She was preceded in passing by her daughter Nicole, her husband Mark, her sister Karen, and her parents William and Carol. She will be greatly missed by her siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family, and chosen family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 11:00am - 1:00pm with a memorial and celebration of life service following at 1:00pm at the United Methodist Church in Reed City, Michigan. A private burial service will be held at a future date.
