Suzanne Deelynn Major, 71, of Reed City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. She was attended by the Hospice care team after a recent diagnosis of Squamous cell carcinoma. Abiding by her wishes, cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate her life will take place on Tuesday, June 23, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Corey Funeral Home located at 415 N. Main Street, Evart, MI 49631.

Sue was born on August 3, 1954, to William O. and Patricia H. (Rickert) Major. She lived a life shaped by independence, love, passion, and a strong-willed devotion to the people around her. She absolutely loved spending time with her family, friends and dogs. Sue was also passionate about red roses. Harley Davidson motorcycles, and anything to do with Elvis. She also enjoyed scratch off lottery tickets, shopping, coloring, painting, watching movies, and playing her poker games. She touched the lives of many. Her love, kindness, independence, and strength will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.

Sue is survived by: her siblings William Major Jr. and Roxanne Carter; children, Patricia (Pam) Taylor, Ranae McCarthy, Denise (David) Nelson, Brandon Major-Kailing, Auston Major-Kailing of Titusville, PA; grandchildren, Keyona Rawlings, Tasia Ricord, Immanuel McCarthy, Faith McCarthy, Isabella Nelson, and Matthew Nelson, as well as great grandchildren, cousins, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her father, William Major Sr.; mother, Patricia (Robert) McGruder; brothers, Robert McGruder, William McGruder, Terrence Major, and Patrick McGruder; sisters, Vicky McGruder, and Etta (McGruder) Prell; son in law, Patrick McCarthy, and grandchildren, Nikki Nelson and Coty Gabourie.

Sue will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.
