Cheryl Laverne Naffziger, age 79, of Mecosta, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026 in Mecosta, Michigan.
Born on January 7, 1947, in Alma, Michigan, Cheryl was the daughter of Ellis and Letha Hicks. She married the love of her life, Jim Naffziger, and together they shared many years of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Cheryl found her greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a true passion for gardening and took great pride in tending it. She treasured every moment spent at Blue Lake, where she could often be found relaxing on the pontoon, casting a fishing line, or simply enjoying the beauty of the outdoors. Cheryl had an infectious laugh and a wonderful sense of humor. She found joy in everyday moments and had a remarkable ability to make those around her smile. She will be remembered as a loving, caring, and kind-hearted woman whose warmth touched everyone she met.
Cheryl is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Jim Naffziger; her daughter, Jodie (Aaron) Ballow; her son, Alan Fetters; her stepson, Jason (Heather) Naffziger, her beloved grandchildren, Zachary Ballow and MacKenzie Naffziger; her sister and brother-in-law, Karen (Eugene) Pyle; her siblings, Jennifer and Katrina; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Letha Hicks, and her sister, Krystal Chapman.
In accordance with Cheryl’s wishes, no services are scheduled at this time.
Though she may be gone from our sight, Cheryl’s laughter, love, and the many beautiful memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
