Yvonne Lou Stocker-Gydesen, age 84 of Luther, passed away quietly at the Corewell Health Reed City Hospital surrounded by family.
She was born December 27, 1941, in Reed City to Norman Forrest and Alice Mae (Williams) Holmes.
Yvonne was a life-long resident of Luther, MI and a graduate of Luther High School. She was employed with the Luther Elementary School for 22 and a half years as a custodian and bus driver. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, canning, spending time with her grandchildren, following the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions, sharing a cup of coffee with friends and family, and trips to the casino.
She is survived by her children: Roxane (Frank) Metcalf of LeRoy, Kelle Stocker of Caro, Leanne Stocker of Bristol, Ronnee (Ted) Maynard of Bristol, and Darrell (Kim) Stocker of Vancouver, WA; grandchildren: Raquel, Grant, Mallory, Taylor, Cameron, Lance, Emilie, Elanie, Ethan, Nicholas, Ron, and Ashly; 10 great grandchildren with three more on the way. Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, several brothers, and her sister.
A celebration of Yvonne’s life will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Luther Lions Club, located at 1003 State Street, Luther, MI 49656, with a luncheon to follow from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.
