It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Alice (Worrall) Lewis, 82, of Morley, Michigan. She passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, surrounded by family.
Alice was born September 5, 1943, to Harry and Dorothy (Apps) Worrall in Reed City, Michigan. She graduated from Reed City High School in 1961. After graduation, Alice spent a number of years working at Wolverine Worldwide, where she met her future husband. She continued to pursue her dream as a hairdresser and eventually became a salon owner. In later years, she worked as a cook at many establishments throughout the neighboring communities before retiring from Altercare as a dietary cook.
On September 28, 1968, she married her husband, Troy Lewis, and together they built their home and raised their family.
Alice was a proud and active member of Christ the King Catholic Church, where her faith and church community were an important part of her life.
Alice enjoyed cooking, knitting, and crocheting, but family was always at the center of her life. She was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mom, “Grandma Louie”, sister, aunt, friend, and mentor.
She is survived by her four children, Doreen (Greg) Johnson, Jim (Michelle) Lewis, David (Dalynn) Lewis, and Jayna (Don) Sherwood; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brother John (Becky) Worrall; brother-in-law Richard Frisbie; and many other family members and friends.
Alice was preceded in death by her loving husband, Troy, parents, Harry and Dorothy Worrall; a brother, a sister, two grandsons, and one great grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Howard City, MI. Alice’s family will greet friends from 4-7 p.m., Monday, August 24th at Mohnke Janowicz Funeral Home in Big Rapids, and beginning at 10 a.m., Tuesday at the church with a Rosary at 10:30 a.m.
Interment will take place at St. Apollonia Catholic Cemetery in Morley, Michigan, with her immediate family by her side.
