Linda A. Tiedt, age 88 passed away August 17, 2026 at the Curry House in Cadillac, Michigan. On December 12, 1937 in North Adam’s, MI, she and her twin brother Lane, were welcomed into this world by their parents, Harry and Florence (Brown) Johnston.
On January 1, 1961, she married Daryl Tiedt in Evart, where they made their home and raised their family. Upon receiving her beauty school certificate she opened Linda's Beauty Shop at her home. She sold real estate, worked at Jiffy Mart, and continued on to an 18 year career as a 911 dispatcher and corrections officer for Osceola County.
Linda enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling (most notably to Australia), taking countless road trips, camping, and cross country skiing. Linda was a kind, happy, strong and generous soul, always looking on the bright side of things. She loved everything about history, and especially enjoyed reading the Smithsonian and National Geographic magazines. Her hobbies included gardening, where she raised lovely flowers, tatting, and gifting handmade quilts to many.
Left to treasure the memories they have, are her son, Bryan (Cyndi) Tiedt of Sears; four grandchildren, Emily Tiedt of Montgomery, AL, Alyse Tiedt of Vancouver, BC, Canada, Alex Tiedt of Chicago, IL, and Hannah Tiedt of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia; twin brother Lane Johnston of Evart and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Daryl, and infant son.
In lieu of plants, fresh flowers are welcome. Visitation will be held at Corey Funeral Home, 12:30 PM on Friday, August 21st, with the funeral services at 1:30 PM. Linda will be laid to rest at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Evart.
