Judith Ann Morgan, a lifelong resident of Evart, Michigan, passed away surrounded by loved ones and her favorite caretakers on September 5, 2026, at the age of 91 at The Big Rapids Fields.

Judy was born on May 16, 1935, to Elmer and Evelyn McLachlan. On August 14, 1953, she married the love of her life, Edward Morgan, and together they built a life filled with family, memories, laughter, and 73 years of love.

Those who knew her knew exactly what kind of woman she was—spicy, funny, sassy, and completely herself right up until her final days. She had a quick wit, a strong personality, and a way of keeping everyone around her on their toes. She loved fiercely, and the people she called family never had to wonder where they stood with her.

Judy loved to cook and bake, and some of her happiest moments were spent in the kitchen preparing food for the people she loved. Her cooking was one of the many ways she cared for her family, and the memories of meals, baked goods, holidays, and time gathered around the table will remain a treasured part of her legacy.

She also knew exactly what she liked and what she didn’t. Lavender was her favorite color, while orange was definitely not. Those little details were part of what made Judy, Judy: opinionated, memorable, funny, and wonderfully herself.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Edward “Ed” Morgan; her sons, Mike Morgan and Doug (Sherry) Morgan; nine grandchildren, Sara (Ryan) Dean, Devin (Amanda) Morgan, Dylan (Nell) Morgan, Nicholas Morgan, Kacey Morgan, Kassidy Morgan, Kris (Lisa) Morgan, Latasha Elton, and Timothy Pylman; her sisters, Sharon (Leon) Schlafley and Arlene (Lynden) McCoy; many great-grandchildren; and her great-great-grandchild, Merlyn. She is preceded in death by her father and mother; her sisters, Lois and Helen; her brother, Sterling; her daughters, Virginia Morgan and Mindy Morgan; and many others she loved like family.

More than anything, Judy leaves behind a large family who knew her love, her humor, her sass, and her unmistakable personality. Ninety-one years was enough time to create a lifetime of memories, but never enough time for the people who loved her.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered—not quietly, but with plenty of laughter, stories, good food, a little lavender, and absolutely no orange.

A celebration of life will be held at the Osceola County Fairgrounds building in Evart on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
