Timothy James Snyder, a beloved son, father, grandpa, and proud Marine, of Vestaburg, passed away on October 1, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on July 26, 1970, to parents James and Annis, Timothy grew up in a close-knit family from Edmore that instilled in him the values of hard work and the joy of the great outdoors. He graduated from Montabella High School before serving his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps, a chapter of his life that he held dear and spoke of with pride.
Tim’s commitment to service did not end with his time in uniform. As a valued member of his community, he volunteered his time and contributed military memorabilia to The Old Fence Rider Museum, ensuring that the stories of those who served would be preserved for future generations. He also faithfully attended veteran dinners and events with his dad for many years. Tim was a talker who enjoyed meeting and chatting with everyone he knew around town, but especially fellow service members.
In his younger years, he was an avid outdoorsman, Tim shared that love for hunting with his family, guiding his three children through the tradition. He nurtured their interests and hobbies, encouraging their passions throughout their childhood and providing whatever it took to make them happen.
Tim leaves behind his son, Justin Snyder; daughters, Janessa (Eric) Otis and Jayceli (Aaron) Hadden; grandchildren, Carson and Kyler; mother of his children, Karina; brother Rick (Elizabeth) Synder; and several extended family members and friends.
Tim was preceded in death by his mother, Annis in 2004, his father, James in 2024, and girlfriend Mary Vestergaa-Thomas.
A funeral for Tim will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, beginning at 3:00 PM in Edmore at Janowicz Family Funeral Home. Family will greet guests from 2:00 PM until the time of service.  Memorial contributions can be made to Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Tim’s memory to help with funeral expenses.
