Teresa (Terry) Jean Mason, age 78, of Remus, Michigan, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2026, with her beloved husband by her side. She was born on September 7, 1948, in Lansing, Michigan, to Lyle and Claire Shaver. 

Terry married the love of her life, Earl Mason, on April 15, 1967. Together, they built a life centered on family and raised five children. Terry cherished her family above all else, and her love for Earl was something truly special. She adored his brown eyes and treasured their time at home, whether watching TV or sitting on the porch enjoying the rock garden Earl created.  Some of her happiest moments were the simplest ones spent together. 

Terry loved shopping and collecting all sorts of treasures, working on jigsaw puzzles at Bonnie’s, baking for family and friends. Her peanut butter cake was a family favorite. A devoted Michigan State fan, she also loved cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events. 

Family reunions and parties were among Terry’s favorite occasions. She loved being surrounded by the people she cared about, and saying goodbye was always the hardest part. Getting there, of course, was on Terry’s time.  She was known for being late to just about everything.    

Above all, Terry loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her spirited personality, love of life's little treasures, and devotion to her family will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved her.  

Terry is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Earl Mason; her sons, Earl (Annabelle) Mason, Scott Mason, and Kevin (Jessica Fuentes) Mason; her daughters, Nikki (Courtney) Salgat and Angel (David) Haynes; her brother, Lyle “Bud” (Nancy) Shaver; her sisters, Bonnie (Roy) Rennirt and Pam Shaver; her sister-in-law, Terri Shaver; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and dear friends. 

Terry was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Claire Shaver; her brother, Tom Shaver; her brother-in-law, Kirk Shewchuck; and daughter in law Mary Mason.  

No services are scheduled at this time.
