Margaret Ann “Marty” Swarts, age 80, of Six Lakes, passed away on October 25, 2026, at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born on February 6, 1946, in Douglas, Michigan, Marty was the daughter of Walter and Edna (Taylor) Stimpert. She was raised in Edmore and then spent the rest of her life around that area. She was a hard-working mother, who always stayed busy. It was while working at Meijer she met Craig Swarts. On July 7, 1995, in Lakeview, the couple married. Together, they created a beautiful life in Six Lakes.
Marty's love for nature was evident in her vibrant gardens, where she found delight in tending to her flowers. The fall colors brought her joy, and she often took pleasure in watching the deer and birds that graced her yard. A lover of Elvis music, she could often be found humming along with her favorite tunes. Her passion extended to animals, as she welcomed numerous pets into her home over the years, showering them with love and care. She was a member of the Eastern Star organization with belief in brotherly love and charitable living. Reading and books were a passion of hers; she even had her own home library room.
Marty is survived and missed by her devoted husband, Craig; three children, Melissa (Greg) Braden, Robert (Amy) Andersen, and Dustin (Dana) Andersen; eight grandchildren—Ben, Katie, Brandon, Cade, Kyle, Jessa, Abbi, Jacob, Becky, and Ryan; eight great-grandchildren; along with numerous extended family members.
Marty was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, who will surely welcome her with open arms.
