David Allan Montgomery, 72, of Marion

David Allan Montgomery, age 72, better known as Pops, is now walking barefoot in God's forest. He passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at home in Marion, Michigan. David was born on January 10, 1953 to Leonard and Lorraine (Richardson) Montgomery in Wisconsin where he was raised. In his late teens, the family moved to Detroit where he met the Steadman’s. Mrs. Steadman saw a family in need and with her husband’s consent and a mutual agreement amongst parents and child, David went to live with them under the conditions that he attend church and retain a job. Eager to work and having Mr. Steadman as a reference, he gained employment at General Motors where he worked for 24.5 years.

Steadman’s daughter, Sherry, was intrigued by David’s free spirit and caring nature. They fell in love, were married and had two children, David Daniel & Maranda. In 1996, following a forced closure by GM, Pops decided to head North to Evart, where he could enjoy the outdoors, hunting and fishing, feed the birds, and keep his eye on his baby girl. He thrived in the woods and lived his life like he was camping.

He was tough, giving, lived his best life but a hard life, passed on his knowledge of the outdoors as a Boy Scout leader, and loved his family unconditionally with care and compassion- even his wildly farrell dog, Max.

Pops is survived by: children, David Montgomery of Reed City and Maranda Montgomery of Marion; two grandchildren, Kane Foster and, Kylie Tripp; three great-grandchildren (who he was pretty proud of); one brother, William Montgomery and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, who will continue to hold the memories they have close to their hearts.

Pops is now reunited with: his parents, in-laws, Arthur Steadman and Betty (Billy) Whitt; and siblings, Robert, Tim, Clayton and Donnie Montgomery, Cynthia Lavoie and Sandra Drummond.

Even though Sherry and David divorced he still remained close to her until her passing in 2022.

Visitation was held from 3PM to 5PM on Monday, February 24th at the Corey Funeral Home in Evart, with Words of Remembrance at 4:30PM. David will be laid to rest in the spring at Osceola Township Cemetery, Evart, MI.

Judith Ann Marsh, 83, of Evart

Mrs. Judith Ann Marsh was born July 2, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, to James H. and Verna R. (Fletcher) DuVall. By the time Judy settled in Evart at age 30, she had lived in Germany, California, Oklahoma, Oahu, New Mexico, and several communities throughout southeast Michigan. Her unofficial duties as a U.S. Army sergeant’s spouse were to raise morale and strengthen cohesion among the dependent families. The Evart community knew her as the co-owner of The Choice Shoppe and as a volunteer with Little League and public school activities.

Judy’s family valued education beyond the foundations of childhood. After completing high school in Flat Rock and Brighton, she obtained secretarial and keypunch operator certificates. While working full-time, she took courses at her local junior college. Her curiosity led to lifelong learning adventures. She wanted to spend the rest of her life on the land and in the house that she built with family because it felt like a home of her own, and she did.

Judy was predeceased by: her husband, Lowell; son, Michael S.; her parents, James & Verna; sister, Mary Ellen (DuVall) Jacob; daughter-in-law, Jenni (Olson) and friend, Grace Phillips. She is survived by her siblings: Geraldine (Len) Oswald of Rogers, AR, and James F. (Chrystal) DuVall of San Jose, CA; children, Barbara (Stephen) McBride of Honor, MI, Jeffery (Carmen) Marsh of Huntsville, AL, and Timothy Marsh of Dexter, MI; grandchildren, Caitlin Marsh, Christina (Austin) Stemple, Jordan Marsh, Dylan McBride, Ryan Marsh, and Morgan Marsh. Also, she is survived by longtime friends, Nancy Phillips & Ray Aldrich, and Sharon Heberling; great-grandchildren; extended family and far-flung friends.

Shirley Jacobson, 72, of Evart

Shirley Jacobson, born on September 11, 1952, in Monroe, Michigan, passed away peacefully on February 8th, at the age of 72 in Evart, Michigan. A devoted daughter to Jesse and Jane Hyden. A cherished sister to Phillip Hyden Sr. and Roger Hyden. All of whom have predeceased Shirl. Shirl was known for her deep bond with her father, closeness with her mother, and her unwavering love for her brothers. Shirl is predeceased by her late husband, Howard Vallade and late partner, Edward Charlie Beers.

Shirl is survived by her beloved companion, Tim. Shirl's branch of the tree and legacy include: her daughter, Janie Durban; son, Charlie Edward Beers; grandchildren, (Janie's) Dana Webb, Daniel Durban, Jessica Dalton, and (Charlie's) Caitlin Elizabeth Beers; great grandchildren, (Dana's) Zander, Bentley, Joshua, Ziggy, (Daniel's) Koda, and (Caitlin's) Trenton.

Shirl graduated from Monroe High School in 1970. She worked at various places; including the Evart Corner Store, Flach's, Clay's, Evart Products, and Mark IV. Aside from work, Shirl's passion for sewing has always been evident in the countless handmade dish towels and pot holders she lovingly crafted for her family and friends. We all know Shirl's Heaven is just one giant sewing room.

Shirl was known for her straightforwardness; she always said what she meant and meant what she said. You never had to wonder what she thought about you. She kept everyone in line and in the next second she'd be charming you with her wit and warmth. She had us all wrapped around her finger.

Shirl also had a spirited side. She loved talking about her red 1973 Cuda and how she was really "hot stuff in that thing." On one occasion, when her granddaughter, Dana, couldn't stop hiccuping, Shirl pretended to have a heart attack to scare the hiccups away...and of course it worked, a calculated "troublemaker."

Shirl kept an open door policy. She never turned anyone away who needed a helping hand, even if she didn't have it to give, she'd find a way to help. Embodying the true definition of a matriarch, she was always motivating her loved ones to strive for more, to strive for the future she knew they deserved. Her strength, perseverance, and wisdom seemed boundless. It's no surprise she earned the title of cancer survivor.

An ardent animal lover, Shirl's dogs, Abigale and Sassy, were her constant companions, bringing her immense joy and comfort. With each hospital stay, they were her drive to get better and get home as expeditiously as possible. Her affection for animals wasn't exclusive to canines though. Years ago, she cared for two pet monkeys, Mike and Jan, she'd dress up in doll clothes. Just less than a month ago, she was trying to convince us to find her another monkey to care for. We're willing to bet ALL of Shirl's pets who passed away before her were knocking people over to greet her first at the Pearly Gates.

In her leisure time, Shirl loved reminiscing over her photo albums, cherishing the memories captured within. Shirl was immensely proud of her son, Charlie, and would share his accomplishments with anyone who would listen. She maintained a close relationship with her daughter, Janie. She enjoyed talking to her kids and grandkids on the phone every chance she could. Despite the distance with Jessica, Shirl’s “PeeWee," and Daniel living in Florida, she would talk to them almost every day. Hearing their voices kept her smiling. She was always proving that distance could never diminish her love and dedication to her family.

Her beloved companion and best friend, Tim, will feel her absence profoundly. Together, they shared a love of cooking, delighting family and friends with their culinary creations and ensuring no one left their table hungry. Tim demonstrated his unwavering love by tending to Shirl's every need with devotion & care every single day and being by her side until her last breath.

Shirl's legacy of love and devotion to her family and animals will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her and boy are we privileged and better for knowing her. There really is nothing like a mother. The glue. The backbone. The massive hole in our hearts is dwarfed by the love she gave us throughout her time here on Earth. She will live on through us in all the ways she's shaped us. Until we meet again, we love you, Shirl.

A memorial service to celebrate Shirl's life was held at 12pm (Noon) on the 15th of February, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Evart. Flowers may be sent in her name or donations may be made to Osceola County Animal Shelter (231-832-5790) to help a pet in her memory. Condolences may be left online by clicking the Tribute Wall tab on Shirl’s page at www.coreyfuneralhome.com.

Curtis Allen Norquist, 71, of Wyandotte

Curtis Allen Norquist ( Curt to those that knew him) died peacefully on January 30, 2025. He was 71. Curt was born on December 19, 1953, in Romulus, Michigan. His family lived in Wyandotte, Michigan.

Curt joined the Boy Scouts, where his father was active as a volunteer. He was awarded Scouting’s highest rank of Eagle Scout in the mid 1960’s. After graduating from Theodore Roosevelt High School where he was an honor student, Curt found employment at Nicholson Terminal and Dock Company and remained there until his retirement some thirty (30) plus years later.

Curt’s family had a long history of outdoor sportsmen. The family enjoyed camping, water skiing, fishing, and all manner of hunting. Curt’s father was an NRA Rifle Instructor, and the entire family were expert riflemen. Throughout his life Curt had several passions that would eventually turn into his desire to become a collector. As a self- taught musician, he loved playing the guitar. That would eventually turn out to become one of his fondest collections.

As a child Curt was fascinated with comic books and was an avid reader. That too led to his collecting of Silver & Golden Age Comic books. His love for Classic Rock, Folk and Blues music was realized in an extensive vinyl record collection.

Curt was preceded in death by his father Howard (Joe ), mother Mary, brother Michael, and sister Linda. He became the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by and Aunt, several cousins and close friends.

In Curt’s final days he was fortunate to be able to be transferred to a Compassionate Care home, by the local hospice agency. There he had a private room and was tended to by several caring volunteers. They asked Curt what type of music he liked, and he replied, “Classic Rock.” The staff made certain that he had classic rock playing until the end. He died peacefully, and without pain. I believe Curt is now hunting and fishing with all his relatives and likely playing them a tune on his guitar.

Andy graduated from Barryton Agricultural School, where he excelled in many extracurricular activities. He served as class president, played lead roles in drama productions, and was captain of both the baseball and basketball teams. His passion for baseball, particularly pitching, was evident throughout his youth.

Following school, he embarked on an extensive farming career, operating the family’s farm, focusing on dairy and agriculture. But his story had just begun—Andy was deeply involved in his community and always looked for ways to help and encourage others. He wore many hats, including school bus driver, meat processor, and an active participant in the Osceola Evart Fair. Despite his many talents and accomplishments, Andy remained dedicated to farming his homestead. Marjorie Geraldine (Hooker) Westover, 84, of Big Rapids

Marjorie Geraldine (Hooker) Westover (84 years old) passed away on February 13, 2025. Marge was born October 3, 1940, to Clifford and Ilene Hooker. She spent her first few years in the Paris, Michigan area, then moved into Big Rapids where she grew up and married the boy next door, David Westover, on May 24, 1958. Marge followed Dave to El Paso, Texas, where Dave was stationed in the US Air Force. Marge and Dave spent 20 years in the Air Force where they lived in Texas, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Puerto Rico, and South Dakota.

Marge accepted Jesus as her Savior when she was a young girl, and felt God had called her to marry a pastor. Dave didn’t know that he would be a pastor when they married, but several years later, he felt the call to full-time ministry. Marge was committed to missions, first while living in Puerto Rico and even more when they moved to South Dakota. Marge first started making quilts for the new mothers at the Indian Reservation. She enjoyed making quilts both small and large throughout her life. Marge loved to sing in choir and often sang solos in her church. She also loved to teach preschoolers in Sunday School, and she volunteered for the Women’s Missionary Union. Marge had a special heart for the elderly. She worked in several nursing homes first as a nurse’s aide and later as an Activity Director.

Marge was a genealogist for Dave’s family, reaching out to Westovers all over the United States to get as many family contacts as she could. She was an avid letter writer and would send over 100 Christmas cards each year. She worked as a greeter at the local Meijer store, always wearing a smile and greeting people and even remembering many names.

Marge is survived by her husband, Dave, her 4 children: Penny Powers of Big Rapids, David (and Karen) Westover of Clio, Michigan; Donald (and Penny) Westover of Goldsboro, North Carolina; and Nancy (and Russell) Wencl of Big Rapids; 9 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, her sisters: Marcia Jacobson of Big Rapids, Juanita Hooker, and Myrna (Willie) Smith both of San Antonio, Texas and many nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends on Saturday, February 22nd at Charity Baptist Church in Paris. Visitation begins at 10 am, followed by the funeral at 11 am. Luncheon will be served directly afterward. Burial will be in the Ladner Cemetery in Roger’s Heights, Mecosta Township. Arrangements are in the care of Daggett Gilbert Funeral Homes, Big Rapids. Dona Marie Wethy, 97 of Sears, MI, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 5, 2025 peacefully at home. She was born on October 7, 1927 in Pontiac, to Thomas Frank and Hope Marie (Kellermeier) Jilbert. In 1945 she graduated from Pontiac High School and went on to marry John R. "Jack" Wethy. Dona was a wonderful homemaker who knit beautiful baby sweaters and blankets for numerous family members and friends. She was thoughtful and never missed sending a Hallmark card for a special occasion, especially to her nieces and nephews. As long as there was a football game on you knew where Dona could be found on Saturday and Sunday. She was an avid Detroit Lions fan and proud of their last season. Over the years she grew particularly fond of her son-in-law and his ability to cook, especially the lemon meringue pie and her daughter-in-law’s “stolen bread” at Christmas time. Every morning she looked forward to sharing her toast with her 90 pound grand dog. Dona wasn't afraid to talk to anybody and made them feel welcome.

Dona will be missed but not forgotten by her beloved family that include: son, Kent (Cindy) Wethy; daughter, Claudia (George Potter) Fowler; three grandsons, Eric Shehan-Wethy, Colin (Lisa) Wethy Kearsley (Katrina) Schieder-Wethy and Cody Schieder-Wethy; three great-grandchildren, Adeline, Alan and David; one brother, Kenneth (Mary) Jilbert; sister-in-law, Helen Jilbert and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Flora Ethol Phelps, 102, of Stanton

Flora Ethol Phelps at 102 years old moved into her heavenly home on February 5, 2025, from Brigham Assisted Living under the loving care of Heartland Hospice. Flora (Ethol) was born July 23, 1922 on the family farm north of Stanton, which has been in the family over 120 years. She was the middle daughter of John Burton and Flora (Hutchinson) Henry. Being raised on a farm gave her a great work ethic. She attended the Hemmingway Country School and graduated in 1940 from the Stanton Rural Agricultural High School and was the last surviving member of her class.

Ethol married Max L. Phelps on September 19, 1940 and they were blessed with nearly 72 years of marriage until his death in 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sisters (Norma Jean Rasmussen), (Eunice Larsen). She is survived by her son, Keith H. Phelps, granddaughter Tamela L (Robert) Sweeris, grandson Kevin S (Julie) Phelps, great-granddaughters Faylyn Emma, and Makayla (Nathaniel) Brown, great grandsons, Mitchell Sweeris and Benjamin Phelps. Great-Great grandson Levi Brown and Great-Great granddaughter Zoee Brown.

Her second family was her church family, Ethol was last living charter member of the Trinity Evangelical Free Church of Stanton in 1952, when it was a real fundamental church. She served the church in many ways throughout the years. Picking up kids for Sunday School, Awana Club, and many other activities. Traveling Ministers and missionaries would frequently be guests at the farm east of Stanton. She was a faithful prayer warrior on the prayer chain at the church. For many years she supplied the flowers on nearly every Sunday morning service. Also she took flowers to shut-ins, those friends in the hospitals and supplied flowers for many weddings. Ethol and Max made several trips to Haiti and Aruba to work with the missionaries building a school, homes, and a hospital. Max was a builder, and they spent several years working on Indian Reservations in Arizona and New Mexico. She was on the Missionary Committee and was a very generous giver to many missionary groups. They were able to tour the Holy Lands and Europe.

Like many others during World War II, she began working outside the home while her husband served in the Navy in the Pacific Theater. Ethol went to work at Federal Mogul Corp in Greenville, where she retired in 1987 after nearly 44 years.

Several years ago she was runner-up for Volunteer of Year for Michigan. Right up to the end, she was a member and somewhat active in the Greenville Garden Club, Master Gardeners, Heritage Village, Gleaners, Red Hats, and Gideon’s. She had a Master status in Master Gardening with 1182 hours of education and 2936 hours of work volunteering. She received much training from Michigan State. Flora (Ethol) had many highlight’s in her life time, with the most current being the Grand Marshall of Stanton Old Fashion Days 2016. Flora Ethol left this earth with a legacy of faith, giving, volunteering, caring, listening and consoling those in need.

A special thanks goes out to all (Margret Rush, Lucy Hubbard, and Master Gardening members) of those that took my mother to some of these events.

When the Church was chartered in the Montcalm Hotel in 1952, it was a fundamental Church that preaches the plan of Salvation every Sunday (John 3:16, Romans 6:23). Today, Cancel Culture has made that non-existent. Her lifelong dream, repeated several times, was the plan of Salvation would be presented at her funeral (Psalm 49:15). She was profoundly deeply hurt more than anyone can imagine when the Board of Elders and Pastor barred her Grandson from the Trinity Church Property unless he begged them to attend a family funeral. Especially after the State Police criminal investigation report said “UNFOUNDED”!!! Her Grandson reached out to meet their protocol twice. His second request was finally answered with them fervently standing by their original stand without any scripture references backing their inane claims. By law, Churches are protected from discrimination against anyone or family. Everyone has a judgement day coming.

Her Son made attempts asking them to openly back up their decision thru the scriptures. Because of their actions, regretfully her memorial service will not be held at the Trinity Church in Stanton.

Robin Wagner Dilg, 79, of Big Rapids

Robin Wagner Dilg passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, in Big Rapids, Michigan from complications caused by Alzheimer’s disease. She was 79.

Robin lived a life full of adventure. She was born and raised in Chicago by her parents, Marge “Mimi” and Robert “Papa” Wagner, along with her younger brother Bob. In their early childhood, the family traveled with Papa as he performed as a jazz trumpet player with popular big bands. They spent their summers in Colorado, where Robin was introduced to riding horses at a nearby dude ranch, planting the seeds for a lifelong passion. She credited this constant travel and the need to make friends quickly with shaping her extroverted personality.

In 1963 at just 17 years old, she married architectural student Bruce Dilg and gave birth to the first of three children. She worked at a wide variety of jobs over the next 16 years while raising her children, camping, hiking, and playing tennis, consistently rising to top positions despite having no formal education in her professions. In 1977, Robin rediscovered her passion for riding, buying the first of her many horses.
In 1979, the family decided to leave city life behind and move to Lander, Wyoming. There, Robin worked for the local newspaper, putting her extroverted personality to good use in sales and by acting in amateur theater.

Wyoming proved to be the perfect outlet for Robin’s passion for adventure such as hiking, skiing, and camping. She and Bruce also discovered the sport of horse endurance riding and began participating in 50 and 100 mile races through the mountains. Robin won numerous races and quickly settled in with a community of fellow enthusiasts.

In 1986, an economic downturn moved the family to Big Rapids, Michigan. Then in her 40s, Robin went back to college at Ferris State University where she obtained a degree in social work, graduating with honors. The rewarding work was an ideal outlet for her passion for healing and helping people. Upon retirement, she and Bruce began cross-country camping trips, riding their horses through some of the most beautiful places in the USA.

Robin is particularly remembered for her indefatigable cheerfulness, humor and storytelling skill, love and compassion for people and animals, her skills as an equestrienne and riding teacher, her joy in giving gifts, many of which she knitted and sewed herself, her pride and joy in her family, her devotion to her church community, her fierce support for the Ferris State University football team, her talent for bonding quickly with anyone, and her magical ability to brighten the days even of complete strangers.

Robin took great joy in her grandchildren and sharing her passion for horses, camping, sledding, and going on adventures. Nothing lit up her face more than when her grandchildren arrived.

Robin is survived by her husband Bruce, her children Christine Perkett, Ken Dilg (Jill), and Brian Dilg (Justina); and five grandchildren Elizabeth, Robert, Richard, Jackson, and Harry. She was preceded in death by her brother Bob and her parents Marge and Robert Wagner.

Robin’s life was celebrated in a memorial service to be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 726 Fuller Ave, Big Rapids, MI 49307 on Friday, February 7, 2025. A viewing was held at 10:00am with a service at 11:00 am.

Darwin Johnston, 97, of Edmore

Darwin Johnston, of Edmore Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 29th, 2025, at the age of 97.

Beloved husband of Ruthie for 75 years. Loving father of Rick (Debi) Johnston, Dennis, Mianne (Gene) Malberg, and Cindy (Kent) Cox. Proud Grandpa to Jodi, Holly (Eric), Mandy (Scott), Jamy (Julie), Jared, Justin (Jen), Emily (DJ), Melissa (Jason), Sarah (Ernest), Lucas, Erin (Scott), Chad (Keigh), Adam (Marianne), and Megan (Gareth). Adoring Great Grandpa to 23 precious great grandchildren! Dar and Ruthie’s family multiplied from just the 2 of them to 57 during their lifetime.

Dar was predeceased by his mother (Myrtle), his father (Arthur), and his step-father (Martin Hockstra). He was also predeceased by all 12 of his siblings. Dar met his precious Ruthie at a dance in Barryton, and knew that very night that he was going to marry her. She truly became the love of his life. They got married at the young ages of 19 and 21 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Remus. Darwin lived out his wedding vows with all his heart until the day he died. When Ruthie had a stroke in 2010, Dar took over all of the cooking, the cleaning, the laundry … and Mom’s every need. What demonstrated love! Countless times a day, he told her, “You are so precious to me!”

Darwin was a family man. His family ate every meal together— breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Dar came home from work for his 30-minute lunch break daily. And dinner hour was sacred. Oh, the conversations around that dining room table … if only those walls could speak!

Every Sunday, the family went to the farm in Remus. Dar and the boys went hunting or fishing. Ruthie and the girls went visiting all of the aunts and cousins around the square. The farm is a sweet memory for the whole family. So was camping. Dar and Ruthie bought a little Frolic travel trailer for family vacations. From weekends at Horsehead Lake campground, to road trips across the country, family memories were made and treasured in that little travel trailer! And then came the weddings, followed by grandkids galore! Grandpa lavished his love on all of those kiddos with tractor rides, treats, and loads of Grandpa cuddles!

Dar was a man of strong faith in God. And he was a faithFULL man. He was so dedicated to his church, St Margaret Mary’s, and each priest assigned there. Darwin served on the parish council, grounds and maintenance, finance, and anywhere else he was needed. He became every resident priest’s best friend and right-hand man.

Dar was an excellent provider for his family. He started his career at General Electric/Hitachi in 1952, working on the floor. He worked himself all the way up the ranks to the position of chief purchasing agent. He retired from Hitachi after 36 years of service at the age of 61. And then came retirement … the golden years! Dar and Ruthie wintered in Gulf Shores for many years. Their favorite pastime was square dancing. They were always the stars of the dance floor!

As the years went on, their lives gradually slowed down. But God and family time always remained their blessing and joy. What an example Darwin lived! What a legacy he left!

Visitation was Sunday, February 2nd, from 5:00 – 8:00PM at Brigham Funeral Chapel, 413 E. Gilson St., Edmore, 48829. Dar was laid to rest on Monday, February 3rd, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 8929 50th Ave., Remus, 49340 at 12:00 PM, preceeded by his Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 am. James was never handed anything in his lifetime and he scratched and saved and fought hard to make a life for him and his family. He appreciated every tool he owned, every piece of clothing he wore and every meal he ate.

James called his Mother, Father, Sisters, Brothers, Cousin Garry, nieces and nephews daily to remind them that he was thinking about them and that he loved him. He always reminded his family that he appreciated them and loved them, despite anything that he was enduring.

He was truly the symbol of gratitude.

James believed in God. He never ate a meal without saying a prayer- even if he was the only one saying it. He deeply believed that one day his Father God would rescue him and take him home. He was right.

In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks that you honor James’ memory by picking up the phone and calling your family members. Set all differences aside and remind them daily that you love them.

Ted Papendick (Pappy), age 72, of McBride

Ted Papendick (Pappy), age 72, of McBride passed away at home on Sunday, January 26, 2025. He was born in Edmore on August 8, 1952, to Raymond and Alberta (Evans) Papendick. Ted was raised in Cedar Lake and attended Cedar Lake Academy. The Academy is where he met the love of his life Lynn Koppen and later the two married on September 13, 1970, at the Pontiac Seventh-day Adventist Church. Together they had four children and were married for 51 years till Lynn’s passing in 2021.

Ted spent his life working for his family business, Cedar Lake Stone Sales, and then driving a semi-truck for 40 years, most of those years for Gainey Transportation Services. He worked hard for his family while on the road and missed many things, but he was always there for his kids. Ted is known as one of the Papendick twins. He was very close with his twin brother Fred and those two were always getting into trouble together growing up and right up to his passing. Most of that trouble was seeing how much they could irritate their only sister Jo. He was a kind-hearted person who always put a smile on your face.
